With varying opinions, experiences, and comfortability, the topic of birth control can end up being a sensitive topic.

This campaign component approaches the sensitive topic of birth control with a lighthearted twist, using conversation heart candies to present side effects. The box includes cards that encourage thoughtful discussion on the back. By using these candies, we aim to make the topic feel less heavy, promoting open conversation and consideration of birth control side effects.

The goal is to create a more inviting and comfortable space for people to engage with this important topic. We see this parody being passed out to many women, encouraging them to reconsider birth control.

The side effects listed with birth control are often buried in a lengthy, easy-to-miss document.

This campaign strategy takes a different approach. We placed these side effects front and center, on a well-lit walkway. The spotlight that shines on this walkway is a streetlight that resembles an IUD which is a common birth control method recognizable to many women.

The purpose of this campaign component is to present the birth control side effects information in a way that makes and leaves an impression on the viewer. The goal of this advertisement is to cause people to stop, take notice, and raise awareness about these side effects.

Social Good Campaign Concept

Over half of women use birth control at some point in their lives, often influenced by others and their personal physicians. However, there's typically little conversation about why a woman might choose not to take it. Negative experiences with birth control, as seen in fine print of the side effects and women's testimonials, underscore the need for such discussions. This campaign aims to raise awareness and facilitate conversations about the potential harmful effects of birth control on a woman's body. It offers essential information to help women make informed decisions. The campaign achieves this by focusing on the realities of birth control in an approachable and engaging manner.

This campaign component helps young women using or considering birth control understand its potential side effects. Question bubbles were designed for bathroom stalls and mirrors to prompt self-reflection and investigation. Women can see if they relate to common side effects and know they're not alone. A QR code on the mirror leads to our campaign's social media for more information.

This campaign component will give women who are unknowingly experiencing negative side effects of birth control a chance to understand why, and it will inform those considering birth control about what they may expect.
